You can watch Thursday Night Football: Jets vs. Patriots at 8:20 pm ET/5:20 pm PT on Amazon Prime Video
Thursday Night Football lands in the AFC East for the second week in a row as the Patriots travel to MetLife Stadium to take on the Jets. Gang Green fans (and Breece Hall/Garrett Wilson fantasy football managers) are no doubt hoping for a great first home opener for Aaron Rodgers and the offense. pass of 2023. *shudder*.
While the Jets and Patriots haven’t played many exciting, dramatic games—the last time they had a high-scoring game was in 2021, when New England destroyed New York, 54-13 – there are still big names. and fantasy concepts to keep in mind in this game.

Does Breece Hall have a problem with Braelon Allen?
There was some commentary from the committee coming out of the Jets’ Week 2 win over the Titans. Rookie running back Braelon Allen averaged 18.6 fantasy points thanks to two touchdowns — just 2.3 points less than Hall averaged on the day. The fantasy managers were left baffled as to why Hall was left out of the plays that Allen accomplished, as both seemed like the games Hall would have excelled at.
I don’t buy it.
With Christian McCaffrey on the shelf, Hall might be one of the best three-quarterbacks in the NFL right now — a do-it-all player who can produce in any situation. You don’t take the ball out of that guy’s hands just because.
In fact, Allen getting the show might be a good thing for Hall and his dream managers alike. With so many injuries rife around the league, is it really that bad for Hall to sit out a few games, especially when he already has his last injury under his belt? And for all the cries, Hall still scored 20.90 fantasy points, highlighted by a catch that looked like something CeeDee Lamb would make over a RB. Not to mention, Hall has 42 touches in two weeks to just 11 for Allen.
Count me in as part of Team “You’re not allowed to complain about a player who scored 20+ fantasy points.”
TL, DR: This whole thing should be less, “Is Breece Hall a committee risk” and more, “Add Braelon Allen (32% drafted) everywhere.”
Should fantasy managers start Hunter Henry?
This really looks like an all-you-can-eat-your-eyes game — meaning Hall, Garrett Wilson and Rhamondre Stevenson are always on the roster — but it’s worth noting that Hunter Henry (48% registered) 100-yard game in Week 2. Unless you have Brock Bowers (who seems to be the only known producer of the season), George Kittle (last week), Isaiah Maybe (Week of 1) or Trey McBride (saved by an easy recovery). TD last week), you’ve probably been crying about your TE position until now.
So why not give Henry a shot if you feel bad about the situation?
The difference between Henry and the Patriots’ leading receiver is stark. The TE leads the team in catches (10), yards (127), targets (15) – shot, and leads the team in YAC. Of course, most of that production came in Week 2, but the way this season is going, we’re going to have to take every week of data seriously. Not to mention, the Patriots offense has been stronger than anyone expected so far this season. If they are going to win this game, they will probably look Henry’s way first when they go to the air.
This is obviously a tough matchup, but Henry’s deck looks as safe as it gets this season at tight end. Start him if you need TE help this week.
Should fantasy managers add Ja’Lynn Polk?
The rookie receiver is listed on only 12% of the league’s rosters and could be eligible for a hypothetical extension before this game. The Patriots have said they want Polk to be more involved in the offense, and we saw Polk get his first touchdown in Week 2. It’s possible that his workload could be extended further. in group play.
Worst case scenario, Polk’s job is actually decrease when the Players try to run the Jets down, and you end up knocking him down like that. But there are problems here, and I’d rather be sooner than later.
